A HIT HOLIDAY HAPPENING
EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Education Committee has helped to set up a tele- mentoring program for students at the Utah Street School. The students pair with a member of our Association on designated topics and then e-mail information to each other.
This project will help students develop their com- munications skills as well as introduce them to the business community.
Call Parker Jones 213/689-0813 or Bob Mosier 213/660-2620 for more information.

BUSINESS NETWORK

The Tri-Cities networking group has just celebrated its third year with the group meeting once a month to exchange leads and contacts.
LAHq has 5 business networking groups in various geographical areas around Los Angeles. A combined network breakfast will be held in the spring with all groups participating.
Join an existing group or be a part of a new one. Call Carole Linn at 310/827-4044 or Bob Taylor at 310/900-0000 for more information.

The spirit of the season was on display at the Annual Holiday Luncheon, at the Hotel Intercontinental. Over 100 business professionals were in attendance to host Utah Street School students and their teachers, Steven and Velora Brown.

The children arrived early for a quick program rehearsal, and then were off to ride on Angel's Flight and tour California Plaza. A visit to the rooftop helipad provided a spectacular view of the city.

After the adults were seated, the children entered the darkened room by candlelight procession, and sang Christmas carols with animated move- ments that had the audience rapt and smiling.

Each child found a big bag of Universal Studios party favors at their seat, which included clip boards, pencils and binoculars. The highlight of the meal was the ice cream sundae dessert buffet, while Chilly Willy signed autographs and entertained all with his amusing antics. For the finale, our bilingual Santa arrived with gift bags of Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels for each of the boys and girls.

Each year, it is through the generosity of our members that makes this holiday party a success. Our most heartfelt thanks to Helen McCann, Universal Studios; Mattel Toys and Craig Lawson, C.W. Cook, Inc.; Christine Waldron, Mitsui Fudosan USA; Mary Owens, Chicago Title Insurance; Parker Jones, Manulife Financial; Marilyn Pepper, Cal West Graphics; Greg Epstein, Epstein Photography; Bob Mosier, Stanhope Company; Barbara Trister, Barbara Trister Public Relations; Paramount Pictures; and our Executive Director, Sue Reeves.
