Our Education Committee has produced fine programs and has seen many accolades and awards; none more thrilling than a teacher's grateful Thank You. President John Stern received the following letter:
|
Dear John,
When Velora and I went into teaching many years ago we did so with the hope that we would make a difference in the lives of children. But, so many years ago we could not have imagined what we were destined to accomplish in our classrooms: Catellus City,? a state?of?the?art computer lab with T?I line right in our classroom,? field trips to LAX, Port of LA, Universal Studios,? an annual Christmas Party,? even an expense account every year for classroom

materials. All of these are unheard of luxuries among public school teachers.
In addition, all of these extras have had an immeasurable impact on our students. They'll never forget their experiences in "Mr. & Mrs. Brown's' rooms. This is what teachers dream about.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, LAHq, for enabling Velora and I to live the life of our dreams.!
Sincerely, Stephen & Velora Brown
